- Prepare the Meat Sauce: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of olive oil. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic for about 3–4 minutes until fragrant. Add ground beef or Italian sausage, cooking until browned (5–7 minutes). Stir in marinara sauce and spices, simmer for 15 minutes.
