- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your ingredients by dicing the potatoes, onion, green pepper, and pickles.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground beef and diced onion. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until browned.
- In a casserole dish, layer the diced potatoes, green pepper, chopped dill pickles, and canned diced tomatoes evenly.
- Mix the cooked beef with the homemade Special Sauce in a separate bowl until evenly coated.
- Spread the beef and sauce mixture over the layered vegetables in the casserole dish.
- Sprinkle white sesame seeds over the top for added texture.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for approximately 1 hour, until the potatoes are tender.
- If not strictly Whole30, consider adding cheese during the last 15 minutes of baking.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with reserved onions, shredded romaine, extra pickles, and diced tomatoes.
