Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Chuck Roast by placing it in a slow cooker or large oven-safe pot.
  2. Mix the Sauce: Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Coat the Roast: Pour the sauce over the chuck roast, ensuring it's well-coated.
  4. Choose Your Cooking Method: For slow cooker, cook on Low for 6-8 hours; for oven, preheat to 325°F (160°C) and cook for 3-4 hours.
  5. Rest the Roast: Remove the roast, cover with foil, and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  6. Prepare the Glaze by simmering the remaining liquid in a saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Thicken the Sauce: Stir in cornstarch slurry and whisk continuously until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
