Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by gathering your ingredients, including well-softened unsalted butter. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter on medium speed for about 2 minutes until fluffy and smooth.
  2. Add ½ cup of pumpkin flavored cream cheese and blend on medium speed until fully incorporated, then add the remaining ½ cup of cream cheese, along with the vanilla extract and a pinch of fine sea salt.
  3. Gradually add 2 cups of powdered sugar to the mixture, mixing on low speed. After it's incorporated, allow the mixer to run on medium for another minute. Then, add another 2 cups of powdered sugar.
  4. Check the consistency of the frosting. If it's too thin, add powdered sugar one tablespoon at a time until the desired thickness is reached.
  5. Once the frosting is the right consistency, use it immediately or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.
