  • 1 tbsp Honey Maple syrup can be a substitute.
  • 1 tbsp Paprika Use smoked paprika for extra depth.
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder Adjust amount to taste.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to your taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper Adjust to your taste.
For the Sausage
  • 1 lb Sausage (Andouille, Italian, or Kielbasa) Opt for chicken sausage for a milder flavor.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Alternatively, use garlic powder.
For the Garnish
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Substitute with basil or cilantro if desired.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add another splash of olive oil to the skillet, reduce the heat, and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in BBQ sauce, honey, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the sausage and pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
