Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the BBQ Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomato ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and water. Stir well to mix all ingredients, then let it simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Form the Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine the lean beef mince with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Gently mix and shape into elongated patties.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes, then stir in minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  4. Cook the Patties: Place the patties in the skillet with sautéed onions and cook each side for about 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Coat and Toast: Spoon the BBQ sauce over the patties, allow to simmer with sauce for 2-3 minutes, while toasting the buns in a separate pan.
  6. Assemble the Sandwiches: Place a BBQ-coated patty on the bottom half of each bun, top with dill pickle slices and red onions, and finish with the top half of the bun.
