Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Slice thawed puff pastry dough into 8 rectangles, score a border, and poke the center with a fork.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Place 1-2 tablespoons in each rectangle's center.
  4. Top each with 1-2 tablespoons of cranberry sauce, leaving edges uncovered.
  5. Create an egg wash by beating one egg with water, then brush it around the pastry edges.
  6. Bake for about 16 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, zest, and vanilla until smooth to make the icing.
  8. Drizzle icing over cooled danishes once they have slightly cooled.
