Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and ½ cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add 2 eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in optional ½ cup of chopped nuts and ½ cup of mini chocolate chips into the dough.
- Combine ¼ cup of flour, ¼ cup of brown sugar, and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon to create the streusel topping. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of melted butter and blend until crumbly.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart, and sprinkle streusel topping over each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges turn golden brown and the centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
