Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a medium-sized saucepan. Remove it from heat and steep 4 black tea bags or the equivalent loose leaf tea in a large pitcher for about 10 minutes.
- While the tea is steeping, peel and dice one ripe mango into small cubes. In another saucepan, combine the remaining 2 cups of water with the diced mango and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to break down the mango.
- Use a fork or potato masher to mash the mango into a smooth puree. Let the mango mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Strain the mango mixture through a fine mesh sieve into the pitcher containing the brewed tea.
- Stir in honey to the mango-tea mixture, adjusting the amount according to your taste preference.
- Allow the Mango Iced Tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill thoroughly.
- When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice, pour the chilled tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh mango slices.
