Preparation and Baking
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat-treat the all-purpose flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking for 5 minutes. Let cool.
- Prepare the brownie base according to the instructions on the brownie mix. Melt the unsalted butter and combine it with the mix in a bowl. Fill a greased mini muffin tin about ¾ full with the brownie batter and bake for 15-18 minutes.
- Press the centers of each brownie gently with a small tool to create wells for the cookie dough.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the muffin tin.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the brown sugar, granulated white sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until fluffy. Gradually incorporate the heat-treated flour and fold in the mini semisweet chocolate chips.
- Spoon the cookie dough into each brownie cup, slightly overfilling to form domed tops.
- Chill the filled brownie cups in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
- Melt chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, then dip each frozen brownie bite into the chocolate coating, ensuring they're fully covered.
- While the chocolate is still wet, add optional toppings like colorful sprinkles or flaky sea salt.
- Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before serving.
