Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage
  • 4 wedges green cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil can substitute with additional butter
For the Flavor Base
  • 1 whole yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut cream for dairy-free
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
To Season

  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Carefully place 4 wedges of green cabbage flat side down in the hot skillet. Sear for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Lower the heat to medium and sauté 1 chopped yellow onion for 5 minutes until soft.
  4. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream, scraping the bottom of the skillet. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Reduce heat to low and incorporate ½ cup of Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of parsley until smooth.
  7. Return the seared cabbage wedges to the sauce and simmer on low for another 5 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with additional parsley.
